Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites South Hill I-85

While the Fairfield Inn in South Hill, VA, may be one of the best hotel options in the area, I’d like to share a recommendation for travelers seeking a more unique and enriching experience nearby. I initially booked two rooms at the Fairfield Inn, thinking it would be the best accommodation in the area, but after discovering the Spring Church Bed and Breakfast in Skippers, VA, I wish I had known about it sooner. The Fairfield Inn offers standard accommodations, but if you’re looking for something special, I highly suggest taking the short drive to Skippers — just a 20-minute drive away. Spring Church B&B offers a stunning, upscale experience at a similar price point, with incredibly welcoming hosts and five-star hospitality. The rooms are immaculate, the decor is elegant, and the setting is peaceful and charming, surrounded by farm animals and beautiful grounds. With amenities like multiple dining areas, a theater room, and even a billiards room, it’s truly a retreat in a class of its own. Rates at Spring Church B&B start around $149-$179, and it’s well worth the drive for a much more personalized and memorable stay.

Excellent location to gas stations and restaurants. We had food from Luca Italian which was walkable from hotel or close drive and very good. They had a hot tub which felt great and a pool with warm water. Exercise room was fine also. Room decor was a little outdated, but the price was appropriate and had everything we need. Breakfast in the morning was included and had standard selection of hot and cold items, seeming to emphasize healthier options.

Hotel staff was friendly, water pressure and temp in the shower was fantastic! The beds are a bit firm. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was decent.

Pretty standard moderate, mid-scale hotel. Rather, extensive continental breakfast with make-your-own fresh waffles. Scrambled eggs and sausage were also available. Room was decent with adequate bedding and towels. One thing to note is that they charge you for parking your car in their lot per day, plus tax on that. That to me was just a money grab. I don't recall EVER paying for parking at a hotel of this setting and type of area. Maybe it's a thing now.

Have to give 5 stars. I sayed New Years Eve on my way home to Easton, MD from Hendersonville, NC. I was very please with every aspect of the operation - good price, clean room, good breakfast and easy access. I have never stayed at a Fairfield Inn. I will not hesitate to stay again.

I'm in the middle of moving back to NJ from NC. After a long day we decided to stay a night at a hotel. We ran into a bit of unluck in the area and the desk concierge at the Hampyon nearby informed us availability here at Fairfield. We were both impressed. The concierge was pleasant, the room was clean, but the best part for us was the continental breakfast.very nice spread........waffles!!! Thank you!

A great Hotel. Now under a makeover and update. The new look is gonna be Modern and upscale.

They have been doing renovation if they old rooms were nice, i bet the new rooms are going to be much nicer.
